This tool was built in April 2026 so Quadra Island residents could send sourced letters to Minister Christine Boyle and the Inspector of Municipalities about Bylaw No. 643. It was used more than 1,000 times.
It is kept here as a record of that effort. The form below is preserved exactly as it was, but it no longer generates letters.
Where things stand. Bylaw No. 643 would add Quadra Island to the Strathcona Gardens recreation service at 80 per cent of converted hospital assessments. It goes to an assent vote on October 17, 2026, alongside the general local elections.
Under the structure the SRD Board chose on April 29, ballots from Campbell River, Electoral Area D, and Quadra Island are counted together as one result.
On August 31, Minister Boyle wrote to the SRD Board Chair stating her preference that separate participating area approval be obtained, while noting that the approach remains a decision for the SRD Board. That letter is a preference, not an order.
